Mathematics of Tithi

 

Any Lunar Month has two halves:

• Bright Half (Shukla Paksha)= 14 or 15 days time between New Moon to Full Moon = When Moon moves to go away from Sun by 180^o and gains brightness to become fully bright finally.
   
• Dark Half (Krishna Paksha) = 14 or 15 days time between Full Moon to New Moon = when Moon moves to cover the 180^o gap between himself and Sun to finally become completely dark on meting the Sun

So in both the Bright Half and in the Dark Half, Moon moves 180^o in relation to the moving Sun (as seen by us from the Earth).

Every Half of a Lunar Month is therefore the time (of around 14 or 15 days) in which Moon moves 180^o in relation to Sun. 

We divide this 180^o movement of Moon in each half  of a Lunar Month into 15 equal parts in terms of the angle moved by Moon in relation to the Sun. Each part defines a Tithi.

Therefore,

1 tithi = 180^o/15 = 12^o of Moon's movement either away from Sun or towards the Sun.

Thus,

• The 1^st Tithi of the Bright Half = time during which Moon moves from the exact New Moon state to become 12^o away from Sun. When Moon reaches the 12^o distance from Sun , the 1^st Tithi of the bright half is completed and from that very moment the 2^nd Tithi of the Bright Half begins.

• The 2^nd Tithi of Bright half = time during whhich Moon is moving from being 12^o away from Sun to reaching the distance of 24^o from Sun. When Moon reaches 24^o away from Sun , the 2^nd Tithi of the bright half is completed and from that very moment the 3^rd Tithi of the Bright Half begins

• The 3^rd Tithi of Bright half = time during whhich Moon is moving from being 24^o away from Sun to reaching the distance of 36^o from Sun. When Moon reaches 36^o away from Sun , the 3^rd Tithi of the bright half is completed and from that very moment the 4^th Tithi of the Bright Half begins

... and in this way we have 15 Tithis in the Bright half, at the end of which Moon becomes 180^o away from Sun and Full Moon occurs.

Similary, we have 15 Tithis in the dark-half,

• 1^st Tithi of the dark half is when Moon is moving 12^o closer to Sun from the Full Moon position when he was the farthest. So during the 1^st Tithi of the dark half, the distance between the Sun and Moon decreses from 180^o to when Moon reaches 168^o hehind Sun. 1^st Tithi is finished when Moon is exactly 168^o behind Sun, and at that very moment the 2^nd Tithi begins.

• 2^nd Tithi of the dark half is when Moon is moving further 12^o closer to Sun and therefore moving from being 168^o behind to becoming 156^o behind the Sun. 2^nd Tithi is finished when Moon reaches exactly 156^o behind Sun, and at that very moment the 3^rd Tithi begins.

.... and in this way we have 15 Tithis in the Dark half, at the end of which Moon and Sun become conjunct, there is no gap between them, and New Moon occurs..

What I see at a Glance

STRONG JUPITER IN THE FIRST HOUSE : HE IS A BORN ROYAL

 

Jupiter is 1st H and 4th H ruler, and is present in his own sign Sagittarius in the 1st H forming the very famous HAMSA YOGA... this is one factor that indicates an important birth (royal birth), very charismatic and popular mother Princess Diana and her strong influence on his personality.... some of the general results of HAMSA Yoga is "sharp and elevated nose, good features with tall, handsome and attractive personality; wise, famous, wealthy, religious, studious, popular, charitable and gentle in nature". Many of these results will be part of his character throughout his life.

 

Saturn is Eclipsing his intelligence and Emotions

 

The Jupiter is under the influence of exalted (very strong) Saturn, and that too from the third-side-glance of Saturn. Among all the Vedic aspects that Saturn possesses, his 3^rd side glance is the most restrictive one. This is kind of eclipse on his intelligence [Asc. and Asc. L also represent the intelligence of the person that makes him survive in this life].

 

Saturn is also seeing Moon (as Moon and Saturn are in opposite houses). Saturn is seeing 5^th H. We saw above Saturn is seeing the 4^th H ruler Jupiter also. So we see, Saturn is single handedly afflicting 4^th H ruler Jupiter, and the natural significator of the 4^th H Moon. And we can see the effects:

 

 

 

·         His Mom died when he was still very young.

He suddenly (Jupiter, the 4^th L is in Moola) lost his mother in an accident in a foreign country (ketu the ruler of Moola is in 12th H with Mars)... the involvement of Scorpio in Mars+Ketu is also hinting of some conspiracy (at least a talk of it) behind her death.

 

·        He broke-away from his own home country (for his wife), and left his royalty (Jupiter which is giving him Royalty through Hamsa yoga is also being afflicted by Saturn).

·        He is susceptible to be depressed also. He is emotionally a very vulnerable man. He is susceptible to be violent and self-destructive also [read below, too much fire].

·        Moon placed in the 5^th H makes him very attached to his children. But this Moon is also the 8^th H ruler. This Moon is afflicted by Saturn also, and Saturn is also afflicting the 5^th H. 5^th H ruler Mars is in the 12^th H with Ketu.

His intelligence and power of discrimination is highly afflicted. He can be instigated by any one who controls him emotionally (using his love for his children as a tool), to behave senselessly and illogically to ultimately defeat his own interest [1^st L Jupiter also afflicted].

 

 

 

We can see, he has lots of fire active in his horoscope

 

Leo, Aries, Sagittarius, Kritikka –nakshatra, Moola nakshatra…. all of these are active.

 

Strong fiery effects are present in his horoscope, he can be aggressive, impulsive and rebellious.

 

Now in this connection therefore Mars+Ketu in Scorpio in the 12^th H becomes very important for him.

 

When he was young he could not have understood how to handle this energy (confused masculinity)... it may still make him show misplaced aggression at times.

 

Time that he spent in military may have done some good to him to help him learn channelize the fiery energy in him and also in clearing [to some extent] the confusion created by Mars+Ketu conjunction which may even have caused him try drugs (12^th H, Scorpio) etc in young age.

Saturn in the 11th H exalted.

 

A balanced, mature elder brother who may want Harry to be more responsible. There is a certain level of coldness between Harry and Prince William.

Mercury (7th house ruler and 10th house) in the 9th house in Leo , Mercury is conjunct with 9^th L ruler Sun.

 

He married a film actress who is famous and celebrity (7^th L Mercury with Sun in Leo )on her own self. She may strongly influence his value system, so he may mostly behave in his life as per the frequency that he receives from his wife.

 

Mercury as 10th Lord in 9th H, may make him philosophize his leadership roles, but he (and his wife) will gain easy public attention for things that he (or his wife) does as work or in profession.

 

6^th L Venus is present in debilitation in the 10^th H. Venus is the ruler of the sign Libra/11^th H where Saturn is present, and Venus is ruler of the Taurus/6^th H where Rahu is sitting. So Venus sitting in the 10^th H is also bringing the effect of both Rahu and Saturn in the 10^th H – and Venus is debilitated (actual Sanskrit word is neecha  which more appropriately means  “downgraded or low class intelligence”)

 

This makes Saturn and Rahu even stronger in unleashing their agenda in his life. He is running through Rahu main-period also. Rahu causes eclipse to even Sun. Thus debilitated Venus in the 10^th H is indeed causing the effects of eclipse in his life.

 

 Saturn is 2^nd H ruler of speech and 3^rd H ruler of communication and media in Harry’s life. Venus (the general significator of his wife) is debilitated in the 10^th H. He has done a media interview [on Sunday, 7^th March 2021] with Oprah Winfrey on the inspiration of his wife which is going to work in downgrading his own status in the long run.

 

When this interview was aired, Harry was running through
the main period of Rahu,
sub-period of Venus and
sub-sub-period of Saturn.

 

Now after 11^th March, he has started the sub-sub-period of Mercury till August 2021. Mercury is already his 7^th H rules. Mercury is also 10^th L and sitting in 9^th H (12^th from 10^th H). He will continue to work for promoting the narrative that his wife is wanting to create. This may harm his own status and leadership and he may become a glorified house husband of Meghan. His family may also suffer. It may also downgrade the public image of the British Royal Family – what an irony, the very family from which you are known, you are causing a situation to ruin the image and status of that family. 

I, as an Indian, have no sympathy for the British royal family because of the colonial exploitations that Britain unleashed on India in the past. But putting my personal emotions aside, Harry is indeed totally mis-guided in what he is doing right now. And we can see how planets Saturn, Rahu and Venus are making him do everything by grabbing his intellect. Are we all not aware of the constraints and restrictions that one needs to follow as a member of British (or any other) royal family? Are we all not aware that we have to pay a price for every privilege that we get in life? Meghan wanted to enjoy the privilege of being a royal-daughter-in-law WITH also enjoying the free-spirited-life of a film actress. Which she could not? So now she is frustrated, as after making Harry abandon his own family, she was now resenting not getting the security and other status of the royals.
